I had no clue why this poor little chap wasn't moving much. He let me take several clicks of him. It wasn't till I got home and reviewed them at full screen that I saw his battle mark. Not sure if he ran into something or got into a brawl. Hope he's OK. Sorry in advance for the DOF, it's not the best...just wanted to share.

Ouch! Poor thing!...Randy...DOF if so hard to get perfect on such a small critter..a blurry wing is fine with me as long as I get to see the rest of this colorful guy...Great capture!

I see nothing to apologize for ... it's a great macro of this insect. What you believe to be a scar may be nothing more than the result of his buzzing around your wonderful flowers, too busy on his cell phone to notice a gnat in front of him and ... SPLAT!

Cool macro, Randy. I'm not a bug doctor, but, I think the little guy will pull through.

Great macro Randy! Unfortunately, if he stung me he'd have more to worry about than a scarred eye. Those things hurt..=\

Another great view of a hoverfly [not a wasp!] the scar looks quite nasty, but he should still be able to function ok.
Cheers,
Steve.
