January in Missouri...ugh!! Jack Frost and Ol' Man Winter working on behalf of Mother Nature herself, hit us a little again this past weekend. A frosty shot along the banks of the Missouri River. The original shot was overall, well bland so I tried to create a more B&W with a chilly effect using some blues...would luv your input!!

Must be an oak tree over on the left-hand side of this pic? I can't think of anything else that would retain its leaves this long....it certainly does look cold and I think that your treatment emphasizes that more than if you had left it as drab as I'm sure it really looks. Nice bit of fun with J. Frost and O.M. Winter.

I think the blues made it all that much more wintery. It adds a little extra of that 'cold' dimension. Nice work.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

A nice job on it with one little nit....I would have straightened it using the farthest bank as a source point.

Yep, the blues make it. That is, the Old Man Winter Blues. And it makes me think of the song, "'Cross The Wide Missouri."

Like the look of your winter shot. I don't really care for winter but you sure captured the feel. Nice post.
