Is this a male American Kestrel? It is a beautiful bird. His colorings are just striking. I just moved to Boise, and my hubby and I discovered a nearby place called the World Center for Birds of Prey. You should check out the work this place has done to save amazing creatures like the California condor and other bird species.

Wonderful shot. The look on the bird makes me think that he is saying to himself "OK- I will sit here for one more picture but that is it!"

I actually looked this up in my Idaho bird book and it is a female American Kestrel. A truly gorgeous feathered bird!
