I'm stupid!! I sold my Canon S2 IS and got a new toy and I hate it!! Ugh!!

I had my Canon S2 for 2 1/2 years and took over 13,200 shots on it...I knew it inside 'n' out. I'd been wanting a Panasonic DMC-FZ18 so that's what I got.

It's OK I guess and seems to work alright, I just don't like change.

This one was shot with the new FZ18. I think I may send it back and go back to the Canon S5 IS.

Any and all comments and critiques welcome!!

Well it looks good to me Randy, but I'm not an expert in photography. And not liking change is a sign of getting old buddy..lol..Go with the flow and you'll stay young! Take it from an expert..hehe..Anyway, I think your shot here is really bright and sharp! Turned out great to me!

Very lovely colors in this, and the clarity is perfect as always :) I'm definitely no expert but I think this turned out well, maybe you just need to get used to the new camera.

The choice of a camera is of course up to you Randy. Watching this very good image, think it's wise to try to get used to your new camera instead of swithing again to another one.

Beautiful view of the butterfly and flower, the colors are really good as well as the clarity, the photo is really nice,i gave it a high score.Seeing the very nice photo, your new camera seems to be very good and perhaps you should keep it,also perhaps you need to get used to it but the choice is yours.

Looks pretty nice to me, Randy. I almost got that Panasonic too, but backed out at the last minute. I read so many reviews too and I forget why I changed my mind. Your Canon took wonderful shots, but if those flowers you have been posting are taken with the Panasonic, then I wouldn't worry because it seems to be doing a wonderful job. Change is difficult to deal with sometimes, especially after you've agonized over which way to go for so long. I still favor my Canon Rebel over my Canon 40D for image quality. Of course, that could just be me and my technique. lol This shot is clear, precise and full of light.

Beautiful shot!

As for the camera, some things just take time getting used to.

Cannot fault the lens quality on this pal...I know what you mean by change....as you know, I use the Pano!...then a sudden change to a DSLR...really threw me!....

Maybe the actual camera is smaller than the S2..but you will..(Owd Bob's word!!) get some crackin results with it!!....I promise a 'fish supper' if I'm wrong!...

well Randy - all I can say is that this image is outstanding - it is almost 3D!!! ...so your new camera is working well! I would give it a bit longer before you decide to swap! I am faving this one!

Well if you decide you dont want the FZ18 - just send it over here and I will give away my FZ7.

This is totaly outstanding and although I am not daft enough to think the person behind the lens had nothing to do with it I would say if this is an example of what the FZ18 can do then stick with it buddy - they dont get better than this.

(Edit: I'd swap the 7 for the 18 lol)

Truly Excellent work. One of the best works I have seen in some time. Got a 10 in the VB and would have gotten higher if the ratings went higher. Superb work.

Lotsa thanks for the great comments and encouragement!! I took several pics yesterday, so I'll go through them today and make a decision about it...probably end up keepin' it as it's such a hassle to ever send anything back. I just gotta get acclimated to it and that'll take some time I know.

I like it a lot I saw it on the new images page and said out loud "Wow" I think the colors and detail are spot on. Give it a few weeks and test it out. When I went from Nikon to Canon I was bummed at first, but now I am happy.

Wow ... that new camera does an amazing job Randy. I can't get over how sharply defined the detail is. The photographer behind the lens did a magnificent job composing & presenting this image too. Several months ago I went from a Canon S3 IS to a Nikon D300. I knew my patience would wear & tear on me trying to adapt to the Nikon, but I was glad I kept my Canon too. They (Canon S series) are nice camera's with loads of features.

Again, fantastic capture Randy. Into my faves.

This photo is magnificent, but I would always recommend a Canon compared to any other camera. If you happen to get comfy with this one, that's different, but if not, heck, return this one, and maybe upgrade your Canon somehow? But this photo has so much beauty in it. Wow. That butterfly seems so proud sitting so pretty on top of that Echinacea bloom It's wonderful you got this shot...pretty rare I thinkt oo. Verena
