Yesterday found myself and the Mrs. on a little bike ride outing. We rode 21 miles, round trip, from N. Jefferson City to Hartsburg and back.

Katy Trail State Park is built on the former corridor of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad (better known as the Katy). When the railroad decided to cease operation on its route from Machens in St. Charles County to Sedalia in Pettis County in 1986, it presented the chance to create an extraordinary recreational opportunity -- a long-distance hiking and bicycling trail that would run almost 200 miles across the state.

The trail allows users to travel through some of the most scenic areas of the state. The majority of the trail closely follows the route of the Missouri River so hikers and bicyclists often find themselves with the river on one side and towering bluffs on the other. The trail travels through many types of landscapes including dense forests, wetlands, deep valleys, remnant prairies, open pastureland and gently rolling farm fields. In the spring, the trail is brightened with flowering dogwood and redbud, while the fall is colored with the rich reds and oranges of sugar maple, sumac and bittersweet.

"--too long...makes it uninteresting. Sorry!!

~moves on~"

I am so kidding, in the above, Randy.

Just doin' some yankin' of my own. :oP

Nice perspective.

And since I am not sure on the brightness stuff, where displays are concerned (recalibrating my own, as of this writing) ... I will mention the following ... gently ...

A tad dark?

And in my humble opinion .. ... well, let me leave you with this online freebie, towards the ends of some creative font/typeface food for thought.

The Ortonizing is a good good fit and it is indeed a pleasant image to view.

And but of course ... thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)

It was good they turned the old tracks into bike/hiking routes Rocker. I have been on several of them. Hiking, not cycling. Good shot.

Great perspective! I like the deep green of the trees that surround the rusted bridge, and the orton gives it kind of a nostalgic feeling.

it's a great use of the old railroad bed. The Cape Cod Rail Trail, which was finished not so long ago, is the same use of a long-forgotten rail bed. It goes from the Midcape on down to the outer Cape, including a few 'spurlines' here and there.

I agree with the above said Randy. I like the depth and also the silvery color of the bridge. Very nice shot and a good narrative.
