This one bloomed just in time for Christmas. No idea of the name of this particular amaryllis. My wife would, but she is shopping at the moment, leaving me with all the difficult Christmas tasks like playing with my camera. I took it from it's usual place in the kitchen, and popped it in front of the Christmas tree on the floor. Almost looks like a line drawing doesn't it ? Most unusual. In the bottom left hand corner you will see a little pair of eyes. This is a little ornamental Christmas crow which we have nicknamed "Russell". He just happened to be there, it wasn't intentional. I was going to crop him out, and then I thought "Ah" ! "Bless him". A Very Merry Christmas to all at Caedes from us here in Cornwall U.K.

Hi John...what a pleasant capture of the beauty of the amaryllis..just in time for Christmas! The striped blossom is quite incredible and the using the tree as a background is quite effective. Love your little friend there. Thanks for sharing this with me ;=)

Merry Christmas to you too! Is it just me or is that the reflection of the amaryllis in one of the ornaments? I love the symetrical aspect of this photo!

John, Good pictures of flowers are beautiful themselves. Next to it your picture depicts the Christmas-sphere very well. Thank you for sharing. Wish you all (including your 'friend' Russel) a Merry Christmas.
