a shot of great timing... its petals all furled around itself... I can't make up my mind whether it looks like it is hugging itself or a flower unbrella about to unfurl...

This is wow Jan! I love the luminosity and the DOF. The burgundy of the buds contrasts beautifully with the other colours. It's a gorgeous image. :)

Well, it's not technically a flower yet, so you can't really classify it as yet another flower...and even if it were..so what? I'll take em all. I love, love, love flowers :)

Ooooooh, I really like this! It's not yet another flower pic, this is very interesting because we can see petals trying to unfurl.

It's not 'yet another flower', Jan. It's this beautiful specimen so wonderously wrapped in it's protective sepals that caught your eye with it's hidden and visible beauty and just had to be shared with others. And a wonderful job of capturing it you did too! Very, very pretty. I love the color of the bloom.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

When did flowers get such a bad rep? A good shot, finished with creativity will always stand out. Love the color combination on this, the warm red/orange against the cool blue/red really makes a statement.
