It's a Green Eyed, brown spotted, 2 winged, 'Omegoolie' bird, thought you would have known that Jan...a very rare bird.

And for people who dont know of this bird, and the name it has been given, this bird has very short legs, abouth half an inch, when it comes into land, you can hear it's song....hence the name of this fine animal !

HI ALL, SORRY IF IT TAKES ME A BIT OF TIME TO GET BACK TO YOU ALL, BUT THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR THE WONDERFUL COMMENTS OF LATE . . . Mark . . . No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

My guess without doing any Googling is it's a Cormorant. I love the detail you got on this guy - very nice photo! ~Mary~

Well, it looks like Mary's probably the closest :) I've never seen an eye quite like that, and I'm glad you focused in on it. Nice call :)

Well done! The clarity is excellent and I love how you got the one out-stretched wing in the frame. I'm gonna vote with Mary on this one.

That's quite an angle on the bird. Those are are amazingly green. They match his feathers very well.

Wow! The shade of green of the eye is mimicked in the edging of the feathers. A prehistoric looking creature. A clever capture.
