My guess without doing any Googling is it's a Cormorant. I love the detail you got on this guy - very nice photo! ~Mary~

Wow! The shade of green of the eye is mimicked in the edging of the feathers. A prehistoric looking creature. A clever capture.

And for people who dont know of this bird, and the name it has been given, this bird has very short legs, abouth half an inch, when it comes into land, you can hear it's song....hence the name of this fine animal !
