The words are an old english nursery rhyme... my dad used to say them to me when i was little lol, a LONG time ago! I live in Norwich so i thought the words would be quite cute with the shot! The moon i shot out of my back door this evening with my 600mm mirror lens (which usually sits unused on my desk), i was pleased with the detail i got from the surface of the moon and couldnt resist posting it!

My wife says I need to come down off the moon sometimes (I`ve no idea what she means?) Excellent detail in this and it makes a cracking desktop O/C. Nice job.

Yes, it is an incredible shot, and if you really don't use that lens that often, put a price tag on it and send it on over. The check will be in the mail. Is it too heavy? Is that why you don't use it?

Jan, I've tried to capture the moon as well (of course with a tripod and 'only' a 200 mm telelens (simply because I haven't a 600 (!) mm telelens). Think it doesn't amaze you that your image is perfect when compared with mine, so I offer you my compliments. Very good work! Regards, Cornelius

Not quite full is the old moon yet. It really is like a big balloon in the sky. Fantastic shot of it. I'd never get a shot like this. Clever presentation too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

G'day Jan,
Curiously I was just looking at the almost full moon over Canberra tonight and thinking the next night or two might be worth an attempt at a moon photo. Don't have that lovely telephoto you've got but you've inspired me to try anyway. :)
This is a lovely subtle presentation and well worth sharing with us.
Thanks.
Mikel.

Hi Jan,
I like this shot a lot, it holds so much detail, color is rendered perfectly as well, and than that black sky, very pure, (~8 8~)
Nice poem to go with it,
600mm, that must be quite a massive lens, have you never had a police officer asking annoying questions about it, (~8
Beautifully done,

Thanks for sharing
Kindest regards
