Beautiful job, Jan. Now I see where you get your eye for wonderful color and why you found Chris' photo great subject matter for a painting.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Both are outstanding. I'm still trying to figure out the link system. I must be missing a link or maybe I'm the missing link. Whatever. Colors are outstanding and framing is as well. Good post.

Wow Jan, I didn't know you were an artist too!! Fantastic piece of work. A wonderful rendition of Chris's lovely image. I haven't conquered making a link, but you sure have! Very well framed with the blue which brings out the waters color. Congradulations on a spectacular artistic creation :)

I found this in the voting booth and I loved it. When you say you painted it, is that in paint and brush paint for digital, either way I would hang that on a wall in my house and kudos to Chris for such a wonderful shot.

..And this is where the difference can be found... with all respect for Chris and his photo which is well captured, but it takes 0.20 seconds to take a photo and it may take weeks or even months to paint. Similar or not...it`s very well done...

Whew! Here I was running through your galleries ... back and forth, forth and back ... looking for your painting here. As I had seen it some time back and was duly impressed. Thought at first, second ... and third go round that you might have deleted it (why you would? I don't know :o|).

Now it all makes sense. In as much as your comfort behind the lens might have grown, you always demonstrated an 'eye' for composition and colour.

Your work here speaks volumes of your artistic talents and sensibilities.

Excellent work Jan. And now you are talking to my first loves of and for art ... traditional illustration.

Love your brush work on your piece here.

And forgive me for what I am about to say ... given the finished quality of your painting throughout ... and perhaps this is just more curiosity on my part as to how much artistic license you took ... the nearest wall?

The introduction of that amount of light (maybe tonality is the word I am searching for here) conflicts a bit with the rest of your piece. Chris's photographic original itself, is a bit non-descript to a degree as well. Artistic licence then?

You can always PM me to slap myself silly for this nuisance of a question. Curious Les, I am. :oP (<--- This is me tempering my ... ahem ... boldness.)

That aside ... that aside ... and I do mean this sincerely ... wonderful work.

Take a bow on your work here ... think there is most definitely a curtain call or two waiting for you and for your artistry here.

Thank you for sharing your talents. This viewer appreciates it. :o)
