the sun came out today!!
i nearly bought her a hat!! hehehe (is the sun a he or a she? im sure someone will know!)!
Anyway i snapped this on the way home from work!
The sun is male. Otherwise it would be known as...........sorry, I know I'm a bit nutty...........the daughter. (I can hear all the booing.) That sure is a gorgeous shot. I've never seen the sun look so large. I love that fantastic sky, too.
Jim Bobwhite has a valid reason, but I thought the way it always made me "hot under the collar" it had to be feminine. More booing I'm sure. Irregardless, this is a great photo and glad you shared your sun with us. The reddish silhouettes are great. Reminds me of the poster for "Gone With The Wind" Maybe it is male.
When the sun is shining he/she warms our heart. So think in general for women the sun is male and for men the sun is female. Logical answer Jan, isn't it? Fact is that the sun made you able to capture this wonderful image!
Regards, Cornelius
How excited you must have been today Jan! This is gorgeous and dramatic, captured with your usual flair. Based on old Amerindian beliefs, the earth is female and the sun male, mother and father. Does it satisfy? LOL
This is you hanging out the car door with a fag in one hand and camera in the other again then?! With the same amazing results. What a sunset! There was a pretty good one here yesterday too, before I started photography I would never even have noticed. This is lovely Jan, the sky is just amazing.
Hey Jan,
Wonderful image, I just love such dramatic skies, (~8
My take on the story is that, linguistically speaking, I say she is lovely, and not he is lovely, so I guess it must be female, (~8
Beautifully done,
The sun is masculine, the life giver (active) and the moon is feminine because she is the receptacle of the moon's light and passive. The shot is splendid because it is one of your creations and so wonderfully shot.

Wow, very beautiful, great composition, brilliant colors, another one of nature's sunset canvases caught so perfectly. Incredible, definitely a favorite!
