I didn't know you painted too...intriguing theme and I like your color choices...yes, getting an accurate pic of a painting can sometimes be tricky...someone once told me to take them outside in the natural light...would like to see more of your paintings sometime.

Could be the birth of a day or the birth of a planet. The woman may be Eve in this world as she awakens and looks upon her Eden. It is a very calm day. No wind messing with the plants surrounding her. Or, moving her hair about her head and face. No ripples in the water. The sun is not high in the sky, yet, but gives much warmth and heat to the picture. I just hope that the bird of prey is not targeting her and does not represent man or mankind. I really like your art, well done, Jan.

Very moody and evocative. Looks like the view through the mouth of some giant monster that's about to swallow her up. I wonder about the Narcissus myth and this... but that was a guy. You're very talented Ms Quantrill.

Wow!! I also was unaware that you had the painting talent. What a gifted woman you are. Love the colors and I really liked Casechaser's analysis. I don't think I can add much other than it makes the imagination run wild. Just a great post and painting Jan.

Hey Jan,
Well, everything has been said already,
Agree with everything,
Gorgeous painting, I've got one tip photographing it,
Try pointing some light sources on one side, it can bring out the texture much more,
Nicely done,

Thanks for sharing
