Works for me. I use the square format at times as well. Tends to help compact and tighten the focus on the subject imo. This is a good example. Like the perspective you chose. Thanks

Wonderful view, Jan. She doesn't seem to mind a bit either. Pretty pony.

When a horse is ready to eat, it doesn't care who is around. Such a good pose you got from little old short legs. Love the mane.

Wow, this is something different. I really like that square crop. It's about the most difficult shape to do I reckon, for reasons that you've turned into a virtue here - it's hard to get the whole subject in and it makes you think about what to include. That decision turns this into something quite powerful, and you definitely got it right. Very nice work Jan, this could be in a book.

Cute pony,Jan. I like the square crop. The focus and DOF are great in this. I can't get too close to this image Jan as horses and ponies really scare me and of course they know it when I'm near by. Twenty years ago, when my nieces were small, they had a pony and often these little 10 and 8 year olds would stand between me and the pony and say, "Don't worry Steve we'll make sure you are safe!" And, they did!

And this one, too. Absolutely lovely. I love your composition... what little information you have included for the viewer yet it shows enough and is perfectly arranged. :) Great job!
