Don't ask me why ('cause I would tell you), thinking that a smaller/thinner border might be a slight enhancement. Something along the lines of half of the current width.

At least the National Lampoon didn't get hold of your photo, Jan. In their "remake" of the classic book they called this gentleman "Goodgulf Grayteeth," he carried a giant toothbrush as a lance, and his horse's name was "Pepsodent." Your guy does look quite a bit like the movie character and those vertical, ribbed strips, curled at the top, are reminiscent of a lot of detailing in those movies as well. I can see the edges, along each side, of what appears to be duplicates of this head. Perhaps Gandolf is expanding his vision, standing in Rohan, in the center of Middle Earth, and looking in all directions? This is a bit more Tolkein-esque the longer I look at it.

For a little more humor, the title of their book was "Bored of the Rings," some of the main characters in the Lampoon version were Frito, Legolamb, Bromosel, Gimlet (the dwarf), the two goofy hobbits were Moxie and Pepsi Dingleberry , and I'd tell you what they did with Bilbo Baggins' name... but that just wouldn't be right on a family-oriented site like Caedes. 8P However, I have to give you one of the best and most memorable lines in the "Bored" version, part of a ditty they sing, actually: "We Boggies are a merry folk/who like to eat until we choke/loving all like friend and brother/and hardly ever eat each other"
