This is the street behind me.. because of all the trees in everyones gardens and the dry grass, plus a wind, one tiny spark could have been a catastrophe... thanks to the Firebrigade and the helicopters they did a wonderful job stopping it from reaching the houses... it was pretty intense from about 3pm to about 1am, it's still burning but has died down a lot, i'll be going out and take pics of whats left, and look for injured animals (lots of wildlife in there)... Thankyou everyone for all your concerns, we are all OK....

Unfortunately there wasnt much greenery due to the drought they grass was very very dry, it does the bush good to have a fire every so often it gets rid of the dry dead grass and brings out new green grass..

Oh dear! I hope there were no fatalities!....Fires like this are truly horrendous....Ypu have portrayed this very well..and it gives us a better insight to what dangers that fires can cause!...........

VERY SCARY. You are wonderfully kind-hearted to go out searching for injured animals at such a dangerous and frightful time. Be careful!

What a scare Jacqueline!! It's been very dry where I am too which is settled right in the middle of the woods! I've often thought how horrendous it would be to go through what you have the past few days!! I'm so glad no one was injured or worse and your home is safe and sound! You got some incredible shots of the fire by the way. Sounds like you need some much needed R & R! Vicky

This is a awesome set of images, but it is a shame about the fires. The drought is terrible and it doesnt seem to be letting up. This coming summer is going to testful I think. We have had some rain of late but not to much as it has come down in buckets and most of it flows away into the drains. I have added these to my favs. Excellent capture.
