These caught my eye with the red against the blue sky when I was out and about...The flowers on this tree are very tiny.. about the size of your little finger nail (if you have small fingers).. they flower in the summer, the birds love it... Enjoy

What a unique flower Jac as well as a beautiful rich burgundy color. You are correct that the blue sky gives you a near-perfect background for these beauties. Well composed and good detail for as small as they are and no dedicated macro lens. (at least I don't think so :)

It is very good because it stands out well from that lovely contrasting background and the angle /drooping gives it a "stately" appearance to me.I like its intensity of colour too as opposed to its seeming fragility/shape
