I made the wings in apophysis... after I made it I knew it could only be part of an angel.. found the "angel" at amor-fati-stockon Deviant Art.. her pose was perfect for what I was wanting.. I then added the clouds and flare in photoshop.. and ended up with this image.... (I would really appreciate critque on this one please..) Enjoy

Beautiful creation Jac. Great message it conveys (and I can think of a few people in my life right now, who could use this kind of illumination). Deffinitly a fav image. :o)

Lovely composition. I like the mistiness of the wings. I also really like the fact that this angel looks human - she does not have a vacant smile, her hair isn't terribly tidy and she looks a bit fed up. I find the pose a little at odds with this, but she is an angel, after all. Although I like both the wings and the angel, I'm not sure how well they work together here. The wings don't really look to me as though they belong to her - they don't look like part of her body. (I also want to know how she manages to wear that dress with wings!) But apart from that, I think the disparate elements of this work well together.

After reading the above comment I went and looked at the pose again and thought in a way they don't fit the angel.....BUT what I decided was that these may be wings maybe only seen by God! Do we know when we are Entertaining Angles? Good Job on this manip. I like it alot. Reminds me a little of a Ron DiCianni painting. Jodie

Well, I visited the link you gave back to DA and discovered a whole new treasure trove of beautifully done stock photos. Thanks for including that link, even though I understand that's part of the deal :) This is a lovely rendering, and if margali has problems with the practicality of an angel's anatomy and the way she does or does not get dressed, I would like to respectfully submit that when I think of angels, they pretty much fit the way I would picture them, and I don't have to have everything down to a human reality..besides, I think they are mythical creatures anyway, so I can suspend disbelief in their presentation. In my faves, and I hope you are inspired to make more of these types of lovely renders. :)

what a piece of work you are .. er, .. I mean .. THIS is

RE: .. how the dress fits ... it zips down the front .. I KNOW, because I have unzipped it .. that is why she is currently asking for forgiveness ... my appointment isn't for a couple hours ... wish me luck

my only real critique would be the 'fog' between her face and her hands (drop the strength on your eraser brush and you can soften edges) .... AND ... the blackness of the right corner

I love this image & how you're spreading your own wings Jacqueline ! Nice work sweetie. I love the fact that your angel is not tradionally angelic looking, whatever that may be & I love love love the Apophysis wings ! Outstanding ! I actually kinda like the nimbus surrounding your angel, but that's just me. Keith's probably right.

My issue is with the clouds she's kneeling on, for me, they're too broken up & seem kind of "jittery"... for lack of a better term Could you put her on a fluffier type of cloud maybe ? And, umm, tone down the flare a titch. That's about my only real critique hon.

Great job & I hope we see more like this ! <<<hugs>>>

Had to come back and take this visual offering of yours in ...

At first, I was going to suggest an alternative placement for the emanating light source ... to me it appeared that her plane of sight didn't quite ... quite match the light source.

Not now. I see it now.

Besides being quite beautiful ... I like the somewhat blurred elements as well. Lauren references the 'jitteriness' of the cloud formation she is resting on ... I would respectfully disagree that it is keeping with the overall composition.

The only ... only caveat I have ... and it is minor ... would have been to increase the contrast between the focal subject and the background. Would prefer the back a little darker, so that ... in my mind ... she recedes a bit from being 'front and center' so to speak.

Keith mentions the right ... being too dark? Not sure ... I think what I am referring to is a middle ground between the left and right hand portions in the background to assist with some depth.

This is good Jacqueline. :o)
