There are no words to describe, only in the deepest fathoms of our subconscious do the explanations reside. ~~~~~~~ MY EXHIBITION GALLERY ~~~~~~~~.

This is really cool, John. Did you add an effect to this image?
The color is so saturated.

John, great shot of this trip, thanks for the link too. Garret said it already about the colours, I like this effect in this photo! Mich ps Maybe you can try to get the dark parts a little lighter.. but maybe, so the total building is clear. But good work.

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

Just the usual tweaks -
- a little cropping,
- slightly enhance the saturation to bring out the clour in the bricks,
- straightened it (as my left leg must be longer than the right - need a spirit level in the view finder),
- added a graded tint to the entire image
- reduced 'gamma' (whatever that is but I like it)
- and ran the result through 'Neatimage' to iron out the grain.

Apart from that, what have the Romans ever done for us?

I love the title "Erie" says it all. I like the shadows and think it just helps with the Erie thing, but then again I think anything with out a face is erie. Very nice shot.

I wouldn't have been able to pass up this shot, and I think your refusal to lighten the shadows (reading your laundry list of tweaks) was a good choice...increases the drama. Wish I know what the point of this grouping was...they all look like glum prisoners to me.
