Well, allow me to extend (another) welcome to the site. :o)
Now then, your photo here ...
I do hope that your viewers take a closer look, as in ... view your image here, full-size.
I make mention of the above, as the quality is belied to a degree by the different appearance of the leaves of the sage plant in thumbnail size. Compared to what 'we' are used to seeing, generally speaking.
The 'silvery look', to be more specific, is a tad misleading until one opens your photo in full view. Then, the apparent clarity and detail becomes more obvious.
That said ... caveats?
Might have been tempted to crop some.
For example, the area or portion ... perhaps, portions is more appropriate ... in the left-hand side of your photo (this perspective) are a tad superfluous to my eyes.
Being bold ... I would go so far as to state, perhaps distracting as well.
The real prize for the eyes ... rests in the right.
Guessimating here, a sixth of the left and a sixth off the top? Something akin or close to that, I believe, might work towards the ends of a more impactful composition. And of course, in my humble opinion.
That said ... looking forward to seeing some more work from you. And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
Edit: Whew ... found you again. Forgot to add that I did take note of your words in the accompanying narrative when composing the above.
What a precious little Ladybug! And that you 'caught it' hanging upside down on that leaf. It's just lovely. When I looked at the full view of this photo, I saw all the nice background...and the little buggaboo much better. Yes, I agree with Les...maybe crop off a bit of the background and zero in on the bug a bit more. Give her lots of attention. Welcome to caedes!! You'll enjoy all the comments and suggestions...verena
