"Tillie" is the nickname of a fun face mural that was originally painted on Asbury Park, New Jersey's Palace Amusements main building facade sometime back in the 1940s or 1950s...The building was demolished in 2004, but the mural itself was saved, and is somewhere in a warehouse in NJ or NYC..."Tillie" was photographed for use on the cover in one of Bruce Springsteen's early recordings, and the mural has found its way into quite a few movies and television shows, including "The Sopranos"...Often duplicated in many aspects of art (including this one - LOL), "Tillie" is the "adopted unofficial" symbol of the Jersey Shore and Beach summer fun season...More information on "Tillie" can be viewed here...
