An Egyptian God

**A man with the head of a jackal-like animal. Unlike a real jackal, Anubis' head is black, representing his position as a god of the dead. He is rarely shown fully-human, but he is depicted so in the Temple of Abydos of Rameses II. There is a beautiful statue of him as a full jackal in the tomb of Tutankhamen.**

I copied this...from a book!

this is a very cool image and very well done. I like the blue color it gives the image a kind of dreamy look. I hope all is well with you.

The Egyptians believed that in the judgement of a dead person was weighed his heart and the feather of truth (as we see in many Egyptian engravings). If the heart was heavier than the feather, his soul was destroyed forever and ever, but if it was lighter, the person in question could have access to paradise (Judgement without compassion). Anubis was who guided the souls of the dead in the afterlife.

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
