...Another day in Post-Sandy NJ...

Shot these from my car this morning @ daybreak...The gas station near me had just opened, so there was only a 25 minute wait, as opposed to two hours or better that this station usually gets each day right now...

I'm sure by now a good number of you have already heard about the gas lines in the storm-damaged Eastern Seaboard...Pretty reminiscent of the embargoes back in the 70's...With much of the state still without power and impassable due to extensive flooding, the governor of NJ has just issued an odd/even date/plate number rationing ordinance until further notice...There's still quite a ways to go before some semblance of normalcy comes into play...

I was just watching this on the news, Yogi. They are waiting up to five hours to get gas for their containers. One guy just wants two gallon.
Cool post. We need a photojournalism category.

(To Tick) Since so many people in my area are still without power and on generators (including my sister)...Many of the stations have a "container only side" on their islands...

I heard about the rationing of gasoline on the news, Ron . The scenes coming from the east coast are heartbreaking to say the least. Keeping all in my thoughts and Prayers.

Spend a few minutes each day being grateful for what you have and who you have to share it with.

I remember waiting in those lines in the 70s. That could happen again. It is most unfortunate, but as you said, some normalcy will return, but the event will be long remembered.

At least they have not dared to raise the price of gas. Hope things will get better soon. Some scenes remind me of Fukushima.
