Unless you just dropped in from a distant alien planet, most of us have heard of this individual, and the notoriety that surrounds him...

Now I've always considered myself the occult/superstitious type, believing (to some extent) in witches, ghosts, dopplegangers, vampires, werewolves, demons, etc...HOWEVER, in this particular case, I've always felt that the only "evil" that the Dutch Colonial House on Ocean Avenue ever harbored was, and still continues to be that of Ronald "Butch" DeFeo Jr., and he's locked up in prison, hopefully for the rest of his life...

The rest, in my opinion, is nothing more than a cleverly-crafted hoax cooked up by the late George Lutz (more like Klutz) and writer Jay Anson (also deceased)... The only true "horror" to me is the fact that this bale of horsehockey hoodoo got sold to the public to the tune of millions - all the way to the bank! Hence, the layout of this particular composition in the series...

- Even "Butch" Defeo himself has has called the "demonic possession" aspect of this entire affair, "Nothing more than a load of BS!"

The house at the top is a nice touch Yogi.
Millions have been made by folks off of this tragic event and many others.

I believe insanity is an intellectual way of describing demon position.
Therefore, there might be a little truth in George Lutz's experience.
(you are right it's mostly BS)
Ronald "Butch" DeFeo Jr. deserves to walk the green mile.
