I went to the top of one before and knew someone that perished in one of them.

(To Tomeast) I went up to the Observation Deck in the South Tower, a few times in the early 80s and once in late 1993...Also, I dined at the restaurant (Windows on the World...I had an excellent aged prime rib that day! :) atop the North Tower with my father and one of his friends back in 1980...Unfortunately, the restaurant was very much open and serving breakfast when it suffered the first hit on that tragic morning 21 years later...

In addition to experiencing the spectacular views, what I also remember the most is my ears getting stuffed up a little bit while going up the high-speed express elevators to the tops of both structures...
