Feels almost like an autumn mangrove...swampy and a bit wild. I know it's not - but I'm still not sure how much I'd like to be wading in that water. You dealt with the grey sky very well here too Jim, by including as little of it as possible, and used the light to your best advantage.
Jim this is lovely and looks like you must have been on trail that is high up. Wonderful image for the colors and the comp. is good. Lovely my friend. sandi♥
Jim, I feel you have given us the view a bird must have as it flies thru this picturesque park. Your colors are great and I like how our eyes are drawn to the center.
They're right Jim Bob. Your photo's just keep getting better and better. Congratulations. I like the angle and the reflections are great. You did very well on this one. Go Buckeyes and Missouri Tigers.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

"The more we come in contact with animals, and observe their behaviour, the more we love them, for we see how great is their care for their young." - philosopher Immanuel Kant
Well, I can see the logic behind putting the observation deck where it was placed, and how lucky for us that you decided to climb it and take this great view.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
Over the years I've been to places like this so I can hear the "quiet", punctuated by a falling twig, chitter of a squirrel, birds calling to each other, maybe an occasional raindrop. Cool, a little musty from turning leaves, the stream and damp soil putting humidity in the air. An insulated Cabelas hooded sweatshirt and a mug of hot chocolate and this scene... what's better than that? Diggin' the colors and lighting and, for a 2007 photo, its quality still holds up well against today's cameras (2015).
