Hugo (?) in his 'bath' and a not submerged submarine have in common that most people have no idea about their underwater mass. Surprising and very nice image JimboB.

Great capture of Hugo! I love how you captured him in the water. so Hippo like! Lol! Jim I like your name for him. Hugo the hippo has a nice ring to it. sandi♥
Pictures say a thousand words but the artist taking the picture can say more. Take care and god bless you and yours each and every day'
What really brings a member to view your work I say the naming of your image I know it does me, the name makes me want to see that image'
I would be careful going to the zoo Jimbob. They might keep a unique species like you. Hugo looks good. He has such big eyes and little ears. Clarity is good. Nice to have a big lens huh?
Doesn't look anything like a Hugo. That's a good thing. This one might drive better and not rust.
Very nice shot and great clarity. Way to go Jim.

HoleyMoley!! for some reason this guy doesn't look quite "real" but I know he is. I had NO idea that Hippos had such HUGE eyes either!! Wow is all I can say. You got a great zoom on him..V
Amazing work, the clairty and focus of this shot are absolute perfection. I love the way he is just peaking out of the water. Hello Hugo, thanks for sharing!

Wow, this is great JimBob. Almost an abstract, it's a really creative view of this guy. Makes me think of the best type of wildlife photography you see, where the photographer hasn't just presented you with the animal, he's caught something of the 'essence' of it too. I just hope you were somewhere safe. I always find it unbelievable, but apparently more people are killed by these things in Africa each year than by any other animal.
I know what a hippopotamus looks like. Lord knows I've seen enough pictures of them over the years ... but Jim, I gotta tell ya ... tain't seen one any better than this one ( Include National Geographic in the mix). Perfect capture here in lighting and the small portion of head above the water line is very professional. Great job.
