When I was at the Zoo in Toledo, I was more interested in taking pictures, than looking to see what kind of birds they were. I DO know it's a bird, but that's all.
It's a Blue Sparrow JimboB...cos the heating was turned off!!!!
either that..or a Robin Redbreast with paint on it's bum!...sorry...just funning!...
You a bit like me...get so interested in taking pictures, and not writing stuff down!...so, recently I got a 'secretary' to do all that for me now....named wor-lass
The detail on this is fabulous pal...and as Sherree says....I love the birds expression!

What a sweetie! No, I mean the bird. lol Jk. He is a looker though and wonderfully captured and my bet is on 'bluebird', but, of course, I'll be wrong. I know what you mean about grabbing the details. I try to remember the names of the flowers when I am in a garden taking flower photos and when I get home, I have remembered only three of them. lol

The truth is, you really should see My Gallery.
Well Jim, according to the BIG BOOK OF BIRDS this seems to be an EASTERN BLUEBIRD. The EASTERN has an Orange Band on it's Neck whereas the WESTERN BLUEBIRD Does Not.
Super Shot of this Beauty. The DOF is Killer.
Thanks for sharing this One with me.
Faved !
Great shot of the Bluebird Jim. He looks a bit dismayed by his captivity though. I think he needed a treat to help cheer him up! :o) Nice crispness on the feathers.
Jim I have to agree with EJ on this, it is a Eastern Bluebird. This is really a fabulous capture of this little beauty and love the softness of the background.
Jim, I have been SO impressed with your shots from the zoo. It's not macro work, but the clarity and focus on all of these close-ups has been astounding, and this is no exception. Your control of the DOF is amazing as well.
What a great shot JimboB. I think Mr. C is right about it being a redneck bird. It could be a BrownIndian Buckeye Bluebird as well. All of them feel like this.
What a beauty and a very nice shot JimBob. The focus is all in the right place, the bird is place right on the 'rule of thirds,' the background is nicely blurred and even the two twigs are well arranged. 10/10 for this one from me.
Well, my dear Jimbo..it looks like everyone you ever knew gave their comments on this photo eh?!! :) But that's because you took such a lovely photo of this bloo birdie!! What a sweetie he is and so are you for sharing this with us! PErfect photo that's for sure...hugs to ya huney..verena
