Jimbob, love the way this looks like a fabulous water colour painting. This is a beautiful old covered bridge, wonderful lighting, textures and depth, superb composition.
Jimbob, to me a covered bridge is rather unique as we don't have not much of them (as far as I know) in Europe. I've tried to find out what function the cover had. Must have been to protect something against another thing, lol.
Very fine capture my friend.
Regards, Cornelius.
Looks good JimboB. Might be a tad too much Norton in the trees which made a little discolorization. I made that word up so maybe I am wrong. It really brought out the textures and shadows. Good work.
Nice shot Jimbob. I still don't know why these brdiges are covered. So you don't get wet when you pass over the water? Just kidding. But it is something unusual. I like the orton effect - looks very good.
I really like those covered bridges. I haven´t seen one for real though, we don´t have them here. Beautiful shot and the Orton´s is perfect for this. Great post!
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW-- What a Ride!"
Nice and atmospheric JimBob, I think the orton adds although it could maybe be slightly more restrained. On the othe hand it does emphasise the shadows on the bridge and across the trees to really great effect, which gives this an unusual look - lines shooting off everywhere which really give the impression of lots of trees.
If you can still walk across, I consider a covered bridge in use. I love every one that is left and hope we can hold on to each of them. Nice shot Jim.
