I didn't have time at the Zoo to read all the info about the birds, but I think this is some kind of Roller, common in Africa. It's a pretty bird, whatever it is. Thanks for the comments and views.
Here is what the
Encyclopædia Britannica says The Roller Bird is any of about 12 species of Old World birds constituting the family Coraciidae (order Coraciiformes), named for the dives and somersaults they perform during the display flights in courtship. The family is sometimes considered to include the ground rollers and cuckoo rollers. Rollers inhabit warm regions from Europe and Africa to Australia.
Hope this helps,
Diane
Cute little bird but without any rollers. Is it a matter for Mr Poirot-bis [myself] to investigate or your Columbo's, Monk's etc will handle the theft case by themselves ?
LOL
Your most gorgeous capture Jim! The bird is just beautiful with its pretty colors. Superb clarity and wonderful details! It really is outstanding!

A great shot of the colourful roller Jimbob. I checked my bird book and that's one of the rollers they didn't have any info on. Maybe it's a Holy Roller. Next time bring yer readin' glasses so you can read the sign. Great post, Saved

Magnificent post JimboB. You sure have a large following. I wasn't sure I would ever reach the end of the line. The colors and clarity are perfect. Maybe it is a lost Bay City Roller.

Jimbob, thought it was a FBB (Flying Backwards Bird), LOL!!
I was just kidding. I'm very serious now by saying that's a very good image. The chosen background is intensifying its wonderful tones.

This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By.
