Yes...the lighthouse is leaning. Here is an excerpt from one of the pages of it's history: Our captain informed us that the lighthouse has a very obvious lean to the east. This, he explained, is due to a freighter striking the pier beneath the lighthouse several years ago.

Thanks for the comments, friends.

Jimbob - aka Mr. Lighhouse, the right leaner looks great in this photo. You've used sunlight to perfection here. A good use of rule of thirds for composition. Good work! Thad

Fine shot Jim. Interesting story about the lean as well. Perhaps a certain captain fell asleep at the wheel!

I thought I would Jazz this shot up a bit JimboB. Not that it needs it.
A good composition.

Wasn't the captain from the Exxon Vadies (sp) was it? Another great shot I love the use of sunlight as well.

A beautiful shot JimBob - I especially like the placement of lighthouse in this shot - not centered as so many people would have done.

I like this very much - reminds me of several lighthouses along Lake Michigan in Wisconsin.

I wouldn't want to be the lighthouse keeper on this one! But actually the tilt is not so obvious here Jimbob. Very nice shot with that white structure against that blue sky!

"Unique" is the word all right, especially with it leaning a bit! Nice to know it's leaning and not you. Nice shot once again, and a different one to keep.

Jimbob, Raj said in his comment above that he wouldn't want to be the lighthouse keeper on this one, but I wouldn't want to have been the captain of the freighter. Ok, there are 'captains' and captains, lol.
Refering to my yesterday's command, hope you'll understand that I'm curious how you succeeded to make this one. Anyhow a very good shot, my friend.

I'm used to buildings that lean, Jim. It's the strictly vertical ones that frighten me. Fabulous.
