"I'm never going to be famous. My name will never be writ large on the roster of Those Who Do Things. I don't do any thing. Not one single thing. I used to bite my nails, but I don't even do that any more." -
Dorothy Parker (1893-1967)
You have to respect those people. Isn't it amazing what they are able to do sometimes? We have menonites north of us and have never seen haystacks like this though. I love the color contrasts in this shot.
Very nice country scene and photo,Jim,the hay stacks look very good as well as the sky,the view is pleasant, the colors and lighting are very pleasant too.

They used to do wheat like that and I think they called them Shocks. I read where Amish Hay Stacks is a recipe like a Taco. Go figure.
This is a good shot and I like the wind mill for flavoring.
It's nice to see things done the old way..Reminds me of when i was a farm boy..Young and fit ..All the chicks chasing me...Wow...The chickens i mean of course..R.
“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”
Great image. These people work so hard with so little. That is how it is around here also, only they have had to let the crop set as it has been to wet to thrash. Terrific shot.
Beautiful shot with such a dramatic looking sky!!!! That windmill added something to this as well. Outstanding capture Jim! Its a number one!...hehe

The Amish lead such a simple uncomplicated life, & are so independent from the 21st century, sometimes I think there's a lot they could teach us !
Good agricultural photo Jimbob, any chance of a buggy shot to follow sometime soon ?
