Jim, your captures from this visit to the zoo are beautiful! Such good focus, and clarity. I sure don't know what kind it is, but it's a beauty. Tigs♥ =^..^=
You caught this one in the perfect spot, Jim. Great background what with the rocks and the bit of greenery. The DOF is spot on as is the detail on the critter itself. Should I now reference the old America hit or leave it for someone else? I'll leave it ;)
I've been through the desert wiht a bird with no name, It felt good to be out of the rain. In the desert you can remember your name, 'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
Figured I'd better be the one to do the referencing Jimbob. Excellent shot of this spindly legged beauty.
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By.

Jim My daughter looked at this bird and said "spur‑winged‑plover" I looked it up and sure enough that what it is! Case solved. Great shot of a beautiful bird! Paul
Hi, Jim...I sent my new computer with the big flat screened monitor back to Dell; so I'm looking at your shot with my old monitor until I decide what kind of computer to buy.
I agree with a few of the comments above. All of your Toledo Zoo shots have been fabulous, and this one is no exception. Technically you nailed it yet again. Of course I'd prefer a background that didn't draw attention away from the bird, but you did the best you could using the proper depth of field. I might suggest that you contact zoo management and their design team or do what I do. Simply steal the bird, and place it in a more suitable environment before you cook it at 325° for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. :-)
Nice capture Jimbob. The background is bit of a distraction, but then again you can't avoid it (unless you're thinking of following Dorothy's suggestions ;)
AVATAR BY PJ............... i've been so bad about commenting on your photos. believe me when i say i look at them all. feel free to NOT comment on mine. Please Visit My Gallery
Jimbob - One of the only advantages to being so dreadfully tardy in viewing and commenting on photo is that the bird's identity has been made. Excellent photo. Thad
