It was 100°F on this day, and must have been a little uncomfortable for the mules and the workers. You can see the boat and it's tight squeeze going through the lock. The woman is standing on top of the boat in this picture.

Jimbob - Triple digit temperatures and dressed in warm period costumes - the workers must have been very uncomfortable. I don't think the mules were too pleased either. I like the mood of this scene. You have captured the escape to the shade for the man and his mule, while the bright, hazy, hot sunshine surrounds. Of course, the woman keeps on working, in spite of the heat! As always, an excellent composition. Thad

A fine shot here again Jim. Time for a rest on a hot day. They needed a lemonade stand!

The shade was sure inviting to the man and the mules JimboB. You can see that in the photo. Maybe you should have let him rest and taken a turn at mule leading. You can lead a mule to water, but a pencil has to be lead. :)
Wonderful composition.

I sure wish we could combine our weather. We've been in the high 60s to low 70s. I'm ready for nice warm weather. This place looks to enchanting. I love the cobblestone streets, and the cart pulled by mules is a fabulous addition to the scene. Great shot.

In my country we are used to express the temperatures in °C (Celsius). So I had to do a small conversion. 100°F stands for 37.7°C. Too hot to do any work, but a good temperature to enjoy a cold glass of good beer. Wish I could offer you one or more Jimbob, because you deserve this. Capturing photographs in such a temperature to enjoy us, is worth such a gesture. Take a couple of them and send the bill to me, lol.
Thanks mate, for contuniation this wonderful series this way.

Hey, Jimbob...

I was afraid I'd never see Frank and Helga again. They're like old friends after watching their labors for more than a week now. Very nice posting, Jim. The shot is well balanced and has some nice spring/summer colors in evidence.
