Wow Jim, so for this is my favorite of your Canal Experience images. I love the porch and the chairs, the barrels and even the ladder in the porch rafters. Nicely composed and very sharp. Excellent capture my friend.

That looks like a pretty great place to work, comfy rocking chairs under a shady porch to rest a spell while watching turtles and playing checkers plus no pesky visitors to deal with. they didn't have A/C back then and want to make the Canal Experience as authentic as possible. why don't you carry one of those little portable fans or a water spray bottle to help stay cool...personally I won't be caught dead with one of those silly things...another superb photo JB

Nice shot, Jimbob. I know that's not you up there on the porch. My kind of relaxing though, but I don't think I'd like the temperature at that time. Hopefully, it's cooled down a bit by now.

This reminds me of a scene from "My Darling, Clementine," when Wyatt Earp (Henry Fonda) was rocking on the porch of the saloon while the choir sang in the church.
Excellent shot and the old boy can watch a sweating photographer along with the playing turtles.

I wouldn't mind spending the afternoon on that porch. I'm not good at checkers, so I'd probably do some turtle watching. Great angle & colors plus I like the HDR. Very well done, Jim.

Looks like a perfect place to rest one's feet at on a hot day. Nice job on the HDR!

I particularly like the angle and lines in this capture Jim. I think I would be wilting in that sort of heat too. But despite your discomfort, you ploughed on and produced a brilliant set of fine images. Well done! Glad to see you werent quite alone that day!! ha ha

Theres my checker board. I should have known you would find it. This is a very good capture my friend and lets face it. All artist suffer in some way for thier craft.
