I like the composition very much with the old house on the left JimboB. Is this on private property? I won't tell if it is. It reminds me of a Chocolate Covered Cherry Wood Bridge. Great work per usual.
You've got another beauty here, Jim. Excellent colors, well focused, fine perspective. I like the slight offset and that monstrous brick house in the background. I've always wondered about the why of covered bridges. I guess it would make a nice place for courtin' your sweetie in your horse and buggy. Maybe it's a nice spot to stay out of the rain. Maybe the builder just wanted to build something special. I wonder what happens when Allied Van Lines shows up to move those people out of the house or when the school bus shows up to pick up the young rapscallions that live there.
Once I've asked you why they are covered, and I still remember that you gave me THIS ANSWER, Jimbob. Very interesting and fine image of another (dis)covered bridge, lol. Regards, Cornelius.
Thank you to Cornelius for the link to why these bridges are made of wood. Makes sense now Ive read why. This is a lovely capture of Parker bridge. I like the way the eye is lead by those small fences either side of the track towards the bridge, and then the view through to the other side. Lovely presentation Jim, well done! Ann
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
A beautifully done image, I love the covered bridges, they have a huge festival south of where I live (by a few hours) every year, that draws many. Tigs♥ =^..^=
Has a perfect access without any distractions from power lines, etc. Lots of nice bright color from the red and looks in really fine shape for its age. I bet you go back here in the fall. Lots of nice detail.
