I was a witness to first degree murder! I stood, and photographed, the whole thing. A killer wasp and this cicada were hanging on a leaf of the tree in my back yard. It looked as if the wasp was digging into the throat of the cicada, and then it dropped to the ground. RIP, Mr. Cicada!

Is there a warrant out for Mr. Bee? You may have to present your evidence in court, Jimbob. I think that it is an open and shut case though. What an amazing shot. I had to stare at this two legged monster for a few moments to get my perspective on who was holding who. lol

It's clear to me: murder in the first degree, and you was a witness Jimbob, lol.

Rare but excellent capture, my friend. Think Owd Bob is right with his comment.

Jimbob - I'm sure the police have investigated and have an APB out on the now famous Toledo Killer Bee. Excellent macro work, my friend. Thad

This is an awesome shot, Jim. Too bad about the loss of life but nature must do it's thing. Excellent detail on the face of this guy - I can see all the little whiskers on it plus it's feelers. Great job -

The cicada must have been planning on moving into a predominantly W.A.S.P. neighbor hood JimboB. I doubt you will get any of the neighbors to protest. Excellent photography.

Hey, Jimbob...

I loved yesterday's shot. Are you sure he's dead and not in a self induced coma. I'd like to see a shot of this guy in a week.

Let us bow our heads for a moment of silence to remembrance for our close, personal friend Sid the cicada, whose life was cut short tragically by this senseless act of aggression. Sid was a quiet sort and kept to himself although he did have a propensity to converse with his fellow cicadas rather loudly late at night. As you can see he was a handsome fellow and had the same facial characteristics of his parents and siblings. May he rest in peace.

Great macro, Jimbob, although I personally would have perfered a wider DoF. His eyes look just like my brother's.
