Looks like he's staring you right in the face, Jim. A fine closeup of this very lovely bird. I like the green leaves reflections caught up in the moving water too.

Jimbo, I agree with everyone else. You really have a good eye for photographing the animals.

What a dreamy background! All that is in focus is the Swan's neck and face. Only you could present this perspective. I love it.

Wonderful shot of this "musical" swan, Jim. Next time shoot him with his trumpet, I'd like to see it.

Jimbob, this is an excellent close-up of a Cygnus buccinator, lol. First a press photo shoot, than its trumpeter performance. Well done, mate.

Jimbob....

This is what happens when I show up late. Everyone has already used the best trumpet jokes. As with all of your zoo shots, this one's a beauty. We have a zoo here in Atascadero, but there are really almost no animals. It's the only zoo in the county. And I'm not going to drive five hours to get to the Griffith Park Zoo in L.A. I'm wondering why you didn't post this in portrait mode. That green slimy water background in a bit unnerving. Nice shot of the swan though. He's giving you the hairy eyeball.

The Trumpeter doesn't look too pleased with the photographer. Nice close up Jimbob - and what tune was he playing?

In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art. ~Rumi~
