They look like kissing cousins..you do take wonderful candid animal photo's JB! What are they? they look too small for parrots or macaws. excellent capture an A+++
No Jimbob, these two are truly in love with each other. Parrot pairs stay together as long as they live. When one partner dies you can see how the other one suffers - Refuses to eat, loses feathers etc. Lovely shot of the lovers.
You're extraordinary on this kind of photo. In mi side there's a side with hawks and I notice lot of photographers staying there in great calmness to take their best shots. I like your photo and appreciate your patience. Ed.
I think it is their custom to regurgitate and feed it to the other bird. It is a sign of affection. (Had parakeets before). lol Gorgeous color in the shot, Jimbob. Great moment to catch them in action too.
Jimbob - 'I saw it first!' 'But, I got it first.' 'It's mine.' 'No, it's mine!' While they fight over it (that seems more palatable than Cindy's description of one lovingly barfing in the other's mouth), you captured an outstanding image. Thad
I believe Cindy's explanation for their actions. We do the same in our household as a sign of affection.
Another terrific shot of these zoo birds. I gotta get me a zoo. The detail, clarity, sharpness, crispness, focus and whatever are as always superb. You've really found a home for yourself at the zoo. I feel it's where you truly belong.
I see this is on a fast track to the perms. I voted on it mere moments ago. How aoout them Cardinals? I know these are Lorikeets but How about them Cardinals.
People aren't going to remember the things you do. They're going to remember how you made people feel. Be kind, gracious, and appreciative. Dan Winters - Photographer.
You should have stayed to watch the action!...lol...Two love birds indeed! And an outstanding capture Jimmy! Wonderful focus and the colors brilliant! A keeper for me darlin:)
Rainbow lorikeets are very aggressive to other birds but incredibly affectionate to their mates. They are frequent visitors to my garden and I have often witnessed these moments. Well captured Jim.
