Looks like the tornado that came here in June got them too! Or maybe it was Hurricane, Irene. I bet the insurance company doesn't come through on this one. I really like the way your colors translate to my screen, Jim. They are always nice and rich and this is no exception.
Now and then one sees objects/views that are worth taking photos of just while passing by. Good thing you had your camera there. The old derelict building has its own charm. Nice colours here too Jimbob.
Jimbob, I do suppose that this 'solid state' building is for sale. Needs only some minor maintenance, lol. Love the textures and different tones in your image. Was worth a stop very well, my friend.
The structure reminds me of some old country schoolhouses in my area ... still standing with a weathered look & making a presence from a time so long ago & perhaps somewhat forgotten for some. I like the color contrasts & the clouds make a prefect background. I know my hubby would be cutting up those logs for firewood & I would be stacking the wood pieces. Excellent capture, Jim.
I like the way you have incorporated that fantastic sky behind this derelict building. Glad you stopped when you did for this shot, so we have the world as Jim see's it! Ann
Because of the earthquakes, there's very little brick in California. A place like this wouldn't last long even in a small seismic event, Jimbob. I love the composition and am a sucker for these old deserted shacks. The focus looks a little softer than your usual shots. Other than that, this baby is primo.
Jimbob, I sure like that wonderful sky, that sets a perfect backdrop for this neat capture. I wonder if it's an old school house that has long been forgotten. Tigs♥ =^..^=
I grew up with a building like this that was out in a field near our house. Of course it was the place for all us kids to hang out! Neat shot that brought back some memories and the sky is just awesome - nice work, Jim -
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
So you were the one responsible for the traffic tie up. I think they got the traffic mule out to cover the story for the local radio. A nicely composed and presented scene. Great looking colours and textures in the shot.
