Oooo! It even looks cold! Makes me shiver.. looks like a storm brewing back there too! I bet it would be interesting to take out all the color except the blues... nice composition :)
You must have had your gloves and long johns on because I wouldn't have been able to stand still long enough to get such a clear shot. I don't mind the cold, but sometimes it feels like the wind is going right through you. You have captured the cold here, Jimbob, just hope you didn't capture 'a' cold too.
The warm orange grasses and little color that is left in this image is wonderfully offset by the cold gray sky. The curve around the little island is so pretty.
Very fine composition with a dramatic sky and a high chill factor (lol), Jimbob. See that's nature is already prepared for the winter to come. Thanks for this very fine post, mate!
A scene that could just as easily been shot in my neck of the woods JimboB. It was windy here as well but it was also warm Good composition and your patented JB treatment looks great.
Here we have example A, Jimbob, of why I left the Midwest. We used to call this "good football weather" which is Midwestern for bone chilling and wind that makes the cold even worse. Those clouds have disaster written all over them. I hope your little trailer is well insulated.
Beautiful capture that touches a chord in me, Jim. Not a leaf left on a tree after that burst of color from a few weeks ago. Great post photo editing and lovely subdued colors. Love those long shadows that say that winter is just around the corner.
There is nothing like the sunlit gold colors of autumn combined with a stunning gray and blue patched sky; it provides personal warmth during the cold temperatures. Wonderful capture :) Were you on a hill when you took this pic?
Another masterful and well managed image JB!! I bet this is the first time anyone ever classified a photo as "well managed" before:):) Nice colors and contrast and I do believe Autumn is well represented here with this beautiful image:)
Jimbob - It appears that you got cold, wet feet taking this November shot! With the heavy clouds, barren trees and copper browns - you captured late autumn beautifully. Thad
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
