Purple loosestrife? Lots of that on the sides of the highways here. Such a pretty tall flower it is and I have to say if this is an example of what's to come, you must have some really fine Summer images remaining in your Summer folder.
Ah summer, it is so far away from us, now it's only a souvenir. Thanks a lot for your image Jim who is beautiful with its light and colors. Great job with the DOF too. Well done
There's good and bad about living here in California. We have earthquakes, fires, mudslides and drought conditions followed by flash floods. But we have year 'round flowers in most areas of the state including the Central Coast. If it wasn't 4:00 in the morning, I could head over to any of the local hotels and take some flower shots. I don't dare grow flowers here on the property unless they're in pots because of the deer, gophers, moles and ground squirrels. I do have jasmine, wisteria and flowering rosemary all year.
These look like wildflowers, Jimbob. You captured them with your usual flair.
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
