This was taken on New Years Day in Washington, D.C. Temps were in the mid 50's, and it was a beautiful day. I just wish I would have had more time in D.C. Maybe some other time!
A very good capture of the shoreline and buildings. I hope you were able to go to the top of the monument, it's pretty neat. I would love to go back there one day, very interesting and so much to see. Tigs♥ =^..^=
Happy Trails to you keeps playing through my mind as I look at this JimboB. I think you did great for the amount of time you had there. It looks like a finger pointing to the sky. Good post.
This is a great one Jim. I like how you shot over the Potomic. Great detail in the memorial and the sky is top notch, especially with all the jet trails.
The day I was on the Mall, the Washington Monument was closed. A beautiful structure. I saw an article about someone donating a large sum of money to have much needed repairs done to it. Great image.
What I find interesting is the amount of jet contrails, but then there are two airports there, but that sky over DC must see a lot of air traffic. Beautiful view from across the river, Jim. You got the most important things in your short visit. It does appear to have been a beautiful day.
Ah....I see you've decided to shoot one of the largest phallic symbols in the world. Perfect for the little pee pee twits running and ruining our government.
I've been badgered from time to time because of the entrails (aka contrails) in my shots. Not much of a chance of cloning all of them out on this beauty. After you described your visit to the city of my birth, I almost expected to see motion blur on this shot as you jogged passed. A beauty of a shot under extreme duress or under any conditions for that matter.
This is a great shot of the monument Jimbob. The blue sky as background with the traces left behind by the jet planes on it adds much to this image. Very nice capture!
A fantastic graphic image. I like lines in the sky and the monument on a line force of the picture is the perfect use of the rules of third. Very very well done my friend.
I have been at the very very top !!!! In 1986.... Do not laugh. I really have been there. Lovely shot, also for personal reasons to me... SAM [no SAAB at that time]
