It was hard enough for me to get down to this falls, and going back up almost killed me, even with steps. I guess the drought has taken it's toll on tourist attractions, too. This is in Hocking Hills State Park, in Ohio.
The photo is impressive Jimbob with the coloured rocky walls and textures but it is a sorry sight to see what the drought has done. I have seen some results of it on TV lately. Good capture all the same.
Jimbob - Judging from the rock carvings, there is a lot of love in Ohio! ;-) The tricky lighting (dramatic contrast) was tackled well in this image. Several yard ago, in Acadia National Park, Maine, I trekked to a waterfall that was supposed to be quite dramatic. When I got there, the water flow resembled this. Disappointing perhaps, hoping for more of a waterfall, but a pretty scene none the less. Besides, the exercise does us some good! ;-) Thad
Beauty of a shot Jim yet very sad. Lake MI is very low here as well as the Kankakee River and the other streams and rivers. The drought as taken it's toll across the midwest for sure. I like the angle of the shot and the tones . Nicely done.
Wow!! That is a beautiful scene my Friend...a most Magical composition. The flow and color tones are great. So, you were at least waist deep in the water when you took that shot aye....ha ha...good one!!
Give me a moment, I have to laugh at ovar2008! Even if it is down to a trickle, it's still a beautiful image! Very nice capture JimBob and I'm glad that you made it out alive, no risk of drowning I guess.
Sad to see those huge rocks with only that trickle coming down it. Go back when its in full force so we can see the difference! But don't kill yourself...lol...Really beautiful and superb Jimmy!!! PS- I didn't pee....lol
Yes, we have had a very dry summer here also. I bet this is a gorgeous waterfall when more water is available. Still a wonderful shot Jimbob, hope your OK now from your walk up
