This was taken on a ferry ride from Lewes, Delaware to Cape May, New Jersey. It was back in June, on a gloomy day.

Now that's a long walk to get the milk and paper on a damp, foggy and windy morning!

I like the colours in the sky, very much so.
Having been absent for quite a considerable time, I have missed some items, eg new avies, like Richie's for instance LOL

I never saw a lighthouse laid out like this at the end of a stone barrier, but it is unique. It really was a gloomy day and you have that in your image. Nice angle that includes all the curves and turns too.

It looks like one would have to tie an anchor to themselves if they were to venture out to the lighthouse, JimboB. I bet the wind can be ferocious.
A beautiful composition you have captured on this shot.

It's moody and the monotones of the shot suit the scene perfectly.

I heartily agree with the above comment...the moodiness and the monotones of the shot suit the scene perfectly and I like how the trees and stone barrier cuts through it helping to add just enough color.

A very nice composition Jim, leading our eyes to the lighthouse. Your image respecting the third rule. The October light is giving to your picture a part of moodily.

Gloomy, yes, but that is often the character of the sea. The wide pano style you've chosen really brings home the breadth of the breakwater. It would have been very interesting to see this same scene 4 or 5 days ago, during Sandy's attack on the area.
