I took this shot with a Canon Powershot SX520 HS at a 35mm focal length equivalent of 1008mm. I am very pleased with the overall sharpness I get with the camera. It's my new back up to my Canon EOS 40D, since my Powershot G9 decided on it's own, to quit functioning!

I like how you included the ice flows in the foreground. You and the Powershot get along very well. Bravo.

Well composed with the icy water in front and the tower off centre Jimbob. The image is sharp and clear. A real "power shot" at that much zoom. This was a good buy for sure.

It appears your new camera does great with long shots and long titles, JimboB.
Congrats.

Same zoom length as the Fuji I use...(Well, used to, before it got dropped in the river!)

Amazing detail at that range....A little 'blueness'..but easliy rectified with a exposure adjustment!....

I like that camera....good one

That's a good camera for the arsenal Jim although I can honestly say now I prefer my Nikons to my Canon. Good clarity at this distance and the slight blue tone makes it feel cold and wintery. We're supposed to get 3-4" of snow tonight into tomorrow so there goes spring!

Nice to see the water is liquid again although a bit of ice still lingers!!! This is a very good capture Jimbob - the Canon Powershot was an excellent choice - the results are excellent. Nice work - well done!!!

You just keep giving us stunning shots of spring thawing, again love the gorgeous scene, colours and textures, especially the little bit of reflection in the open water.

Does it also serve as a cell tower and lighthouse? Quite the impressive monument and good capture of the scene, Jimbob.
