I am glad the park people did not cut it down because of the path JimBob. I have read that Indians (Native Americans) often tied trees to grow this way as a way of marking a trail but this tree is pretty young to have existed in that era. It makes an interesting photo though.
It appears to coming out by the roots - that tree has obviously seen a great deal of wind from a particular direction to turn out like that - an interesting capture Jim.
Jimbob, think to see by its vertical branches that it was already a long time in this position. I suppose too that the path is only for pedestrians, else some accidents would have happened.

Jimbob - The tree appears to be doing fine. For how many foreheads can't the same be said? I think I'll have a seat on that bench and ponder this for a while. ;-) A good 'un, Jimbob.
Whoa, now that is so cool, my son would love to climb it, just hope no one is under it when it decides to fall. Beautiful colour and lighting, wonderful setting
