I found this growing at the edge of a field and my backyard yesterday. I didn't notice the small flying insect on the top till I saw it after downloading to the computer. The fungi was about the size of a baseball.

That looks like a mini dragonfly. That fungi is quite a big one and a bit unusual in its appearance. Nice capture Jimbob.

That looks like a puff ball with a possible fungus problem. Puff balls grow well in N.Y. (not here) because of the moisture, and I was always thrilled to find them in the yard or on a walk. I'd bring them home and fry them with onions. Yum!
