This bird was spotted in the tree in my backyard by my daughter yesterday, and as near as I can tell, it is a Coopers Hawk. (Google Search) I could be wrong though. I was wrong one other time in my life. LOL.

I think you nailed it Jim - I pulled put my trusty field guide to birds east of the Rockies which I keep by the computer and I do believe you are correct - excellent capture!

Great shot of the hawk Jimbob - it's so cool to see one in the wild - that guy is a youngster learning to hunt for food and exploring his new world. Great Capture!!!!!!!

I do believe it is a coopers hawk, you were lucky it sat still long enough for you to get this excellent capture of it. Kudos on a job very well done. tigs=^..^=

He is spotted, JimBob, he has brown spots on on his chest! Great find and good capture - what a wonderful visitor to You backyard. With him in residence, You won't have to worry about having mice and moles.
