Jimbob, when I viewed this one, I was completely surprised, because 'Tiki Torch' was an unknown phenomenon to me. Perhaps that you're disappointed now that I'm not frightened anymore by his very unfriendly appearance, since I've gotten used to it just like birds have become accustomed to a scarecrow, by sitting on its head, lol. Perfect entry for the B&W challenge my friend. Very well done again!

The Tiki is very familiar to me - the Māori version. Tiki-auaha, the progenitor of humankind
"In Māori mythology, Tiki is the first man, created by either Tūmatauenga or Tāne. He found the first woman, Marikoriko, in a pond.(!)She seduced him and he became the father of Hine-kau-ataata. By extension, a tiki is a large wooden carving in humanoid form. Carvings similar to tikis are found in most Polynesian cultures. They often serve to mark the boundaries of sacred or significant sites."
I think perhaps this one is an Hawiian Tiki torch (?)
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
