June, Unless you were intentionally wanting it out of focus, you're better off shooting from farther away, which will give you greater depth of field. Then you could crop it to this size, and the detail would be much improved.
Good morning everyone! Well Doug, the focal point was on the center of the flower which I thought was in good focus, perhaps I was wrong. I shall try what you are suggesting though!
Tks for the tips. Thanks everyone for your great comments!

The colours are glorious. I don’t think it’s out of focus but the sharpness would probably be improved by using a smaller aperture. The depth of focus would definitely improve with a smaller aperture. Love the red lights in the centre.
Hi Junie Gem, what a glorious sunny yellow this hibiscus is! It offers a bright sunny smile to help us on our way! I think it is very nice June! I love the hibiscus and it grows freely in the south and the Caribbean islands displaying a beautiful array of wonderful colors! I also want to ask you to pardon my late replies to your many comments made in my interest! This delay by no means dimminishes my appreciation for your support! Thanks again Honey! You know what it means to me, I am positive you know! Thank you again! Sincerely, Marilyn
Well I think this is just stunning, the colours, clarity everything about this beatiful shot say " take me home " and that's just what I'm going to do !!! Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous hibiscus photo.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

However did I miss this beauty JuneBug? I am sooooo glad that I found it now though :)...the color is stunning as is the center of any hibiscus. Aren't they fascinating to photograph? My pink one are now in bloom and are as big as small dinner plates. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us :~)
Thanks also for liking ~romantic evening~ enough to put it on your desktop! I am truly honored angel. I was playing with the camera and shot the lily a bit too dark and had to put it in an image-editing program to light it. The colors you see are what I see when I look out my windows! Mother Nature has the prettiest color palette, doesn't' she? Your comments and support mean so much to me as do you darling. Thanks again :~)
